First, thanx goose...now I hope you die of old age and natural causes.
AUDIO on yesterdays DL sounded nice from yesterday. keep up the good work Goose
This is the same as yesterdays just a few db's down on the volume. I didn't hear clipping on yesterdays, but under waveform analysis it appears there was some in spots. 04-08-09 will be the same with a few less mid-speech edit points.
Yesterdays sounded great! I read someone else bitching about size on another site... Kinda like they had reposted your rip... the file name was something like:

"2009-04-07 Tue O&A (Worst Of) TOO-BIGkbps CF.mp3"

and they didn't even credit their source...

Weird huh?

;)
That's his own encode, he's just bitching about mp3's size in general. It definitely has been surpassed efficiency-wise by more modern codecs but it's still the most compatible audio format on the planet. That's it - you're getting FLAC mofo's!

The plan when O&A return live is to still up the CF64k files in the afternoon, and then the CF128k will be upped in the evening. The daily live CF128k's won't be quite as big because the "Worst of's" go till 12 every day. With my AKG's you really can hear the improved headroom and the noise-floor is very low with the all-digital rip.

I do believe as O&A have said some bandwidth has been trimmed from XM202 in recent months, as I remember a bit more highs back in the day but it could just be me. Unfortunately my main system is having hardware-level issues so I'm on the single-core backup for encoding, which delays things a smidge. After months of tinkering, it seems that I finally have a reliable, all-digital, dedicated rig for The Virus. Hooooray!
TY MG :)

U do too much for us, maybe we can all chip in and get u a nice tranny.
Not to rain on your parade, but i noticed you were using lame 3.98 -V0....

For some reason i'm hearing A LOT of high frequency artifacts in your encodes, This is not typical of either the AAC that XM
uses to send down the channels, or VBR mp3.

I was wondering what you record to in between your XM unit and the final encode, maybe it's something you could change out for a better sound.
